We use these tools in a way that is designed to respect privacy and applicable laws. We do not rely on AI alone to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects about individuals without human oversight.
4. Legal bases under GDPR
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract: to perform our contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Legitimate interests: to operate and improve our Services, communicate with you and protect our business, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.

Where required, we will ask for your consent to use non-essential cookies. You can usually manage cookies through your browser settings.

We do not sell personal data. We do not permit our service providers to use personal data for their own independent marketing purposes.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this results in a transfer of personal data to a country without an adequacy decision, we use appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent measures, where required by law.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including for any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Retention periods depend on the type of data and the context in which it is processed.
When data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymise it in a safe manner.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@shopiscale.co.
10. Your role as a Shopify retailer
When you use our Services with your own customers’ data, you are typically the “controller” of that data and we act as your “processor”. You remain responsible for:
- Providing appropriate privacy notices to your customers.
- Obtaining any consents required for marketing or messaging.
- Complying with all applicable laws in relation to your customers’ personal data.
Our contractual terms may include additional data protection provisions governing this controller–processor relationship.
